Big Announcement … Well Mini Announcement

With our trail construction efforts skyrocketing and needs not always able to be met with rental equipment availability, we decided it was time…time to purchase a mini excavator. We with the help of Equipment Share were able to locate a very low hour used Takeuchi TB216. This machine is a perfect match to the size and type of trails we are building. We did have to finance a portion of the purchase, but are hopeful to get the necessary funds raised to pay it off ASAP. We want to send our thanks out to Equipment Share and all of our generous donors. Without this amazing trail community this would not be possible. If you want your name or company recognized for the purchase of this piece of equipment please contact us directly at 307-262-6923 or email us at centralwyomingtrails@gmail.com.

Douglas Mountain Update

The soft opening went well with 99 total participants and plenty of sunshine, we were able to gain some feedback and see what we need to make it even better for you. We will be spending our remaining time on phase I finishing the skills park and creating/installing signage. This has been a fun project with some amazing partners. Huge thanks goes out to the City of Douglas and the Outdoor Enthusiasts of Converse County without this partnership this project would likely still be just a dream. On to phase II??

New Partnership Announcement

We are pleased to announce that we have partnered with Casper College and are working through the beginning stages of trail development for the CC campus. This partnership aligns with our mission to improve our outdoor spaces and will ultimately aid in recruitment and retention of students and staff. Our plan is to create a better design of multi-use trails and in-campus access to these new trails. We will continue to update as we move forward on this project.

Trail Conditions

All trails in our area are open and riding great. We have spent some time clearing trees from the trail and already working on the McMurry park connection trail. More on that soon…

We do ask that you respect the signage and trail closures as they are there to protect the user. We will be getting new signage up soon and finishing up some features on our very technical “Off-CAMBYR” trail. We also ask that if you find a large tree that is down that you give us a shout to get it removed. We want to ensure the safety of the public and follow the rules of the County park.

Funding Needs

We are still in need of program specific funds to provide the best trail experience for you.

We are in need of funding for our general maintenance program, Bridle Trail maintenance program, and McMurry mountain park trail addition. Please consider donating today every dollar will help to build and maintain our awesome outdoor spaces.

Volunteer Highlights

This weeks highlight goes out to a very enthusiastic group of young men and women. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints participated in a trail cleanup at Rotary Park last Wednesday. We had over 30 volunteers contributing over 65 volunteer hours!!  They filled the dumptrailer, provided by Demo Day Dumpsters, to the brim with excess vegetation and dead tree cuttings. They also filled  a ¼ of a trash dumpster with trash found on site. Good job and thank you to everyone that made this night happen.
