Tuesday Trail Talk: March 11, 2025
Trail Update
Casper mountain saw significant spring snow this past week with depths varying between 8-20”. We have been able to groom most of Eadsville and all of Copper and Miner. Upper Eadsville saw the most accumulation and is very difficult to groom until we get a trail packed. With the warmer temperatures late day use is very soft and slushy. Best time to ride is early to mid morning.
Duncan Ranch, Muddy with some snow
Glendo, Mostly clear wet in spots
Bridle Trail, Muddy with icy and snow packed conditions.
Trail Building for Volunteers
This coming March 29th, CWTA will be launching its first trail building class specifically designed for volunteer work groups. This class will be held in Douglas Wyoming at the La Bonte. This will be a two part course: morning classroom and afternoon field work. Our goal is to provide instruction on the basics of trail construction and maintenance. Class starts at 9am and is scheduled through 5pm. We ask that you attend the classroom portion as we will be putting into practice what we learned that day. This course is open to all age groups and abilities. Best yet, this course is free to attend. We are planning on a second class this June sometime and will likely be held at the new Trails Center on Casper mountain.
Winter’s Last Blast
Formerly known as Winter Adventure Day will be held April 12th starting at 9am at the Biathlon Center at McMurry mountain park. This is a free, family event with many winter activities. Please see the attached flyer and come join the fun.
